The Indiana Historical Society has added a new Digital Collection. The Northwest Territory Collection can be accessed online at www.indianahistory.org.
This new collection contains 2,000 pages from 551 documents covering over 100 years (1721-1825).
Many of the documents are originals. Included in the collection are:
- Correspondence (personal, governmental, and military)
- Notices of changes in the law
- Requests for military supplies
A few of the documents were signed by famous leaders of the time:
- Patrick Henry
- George Rogers Clark
- Henry Knox
- Thomas Jefferson
- Anthony Wayne
- Arthur St. Clair
